Rossini, Cenerentola/Askungen. We've wanted to create a comic opera in a genuine commedia tradition. Commedia dell’arte was street theatre: bold, lively, fast-paced, funny. What else could it have been? The spectators would have walked away. I dare hope that nobody will leave this performance bored. It’s going to be funny for real on Saturday.
